I'm this guy somewhere in his twenties, a student at the University of Stellenbosch busy with my honours degree in Socio-Informatics.
In my free time I dabble in web development, design, photography, electronic music production and everyday gadget-loving.
Things that spark my interest (one or more of which I hope will end up to be my job): Web Technologies, The Semantic Web, Knowledge Management, Information Architecture, User Experience, System Analysis & Design.
This here is my personal space on the web, a showcase if you will, of what I get up to.
It's running on my own CMS, called ed, that started life as a specialized content management system for school websites. It has since been re-written as a totally modular framework with plugin support and a simple theme engine. ed is PHP/MySQL based, and relies heavily on the Scriptaculous/Prototype Javascript framework. It has, however, been written in such a way that you never have to use Javascript in the front end if you don't want to.
This site uses the Blogging, Gallery, Music Management, Links and Pages modules, as well as plugins for Plurk, last.fm, del.icio.us and Reinvigorate.
