First things first. I've decided to "unhide" my miscellaneous image gallery, so all my recent pictures will appear at the bottom of the page, not just my newest photos.

So, I went to pick up my new phone today. It was going to be either the Motorola RAZR2 V8, or the Nokia E51. Well, the Moto wasn't available on my contract anymore, and that clinched the deal.
I am now the proud new owner of an E51.

This phone is all kinds of awesome. It's pleasing to the eye, as well as nice and thin, but with a solid construction all around. Hardware-wise, what impresses me is the screen (readable, outside, in sunlight!), the 3G Capabilities (4Mbps downstream on the speed test I did! Goodbye credit.) and WiFi (WiFi!). The call quality is very good compared to the el-cheapo phones I previoulsy used. Not too impressed with the camera, but hey, you can't have everything.

This is the first Symbian phone I've used. True multitasking! Awesome. Lots of software available. Fully customisable. What more could a geek want?

As always, my luck isn't what it should be. There's one single speck of dust between the LCD and glass. Difficult to notice, but it still bothers me. Luckily it's easy enough for them to open up and just blow it away with some compressed air or something. I'm taking it in tomorrow. Aside from that, however, I'm very happy with this phone.
